#EdoDecides2020#: APC Rejects Poll Results, Cites Irregularities, To Respond Appropriately

By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Following its chastening defeat at the Edo Gubernatorial poll, the All Progressives Party (APC) in the state has alleged that the election was fraught with irregularities, promising to respond appropriately.

According to the Chairman of the APC Media Campaign Council, Mr John Mayaki, in a statement released on Sunday, the party disagreed with the declared results on the grounds of arbitrarily arrest of party officials and fabrication of figures.

Mayaki, who was speaking following declaration of Obaseki as the winner of the poll by the Independent National Electoral Commission, called on party members to stay calm as the party was studying the result and would announce their decision and course of action as soon as possible.

INEC Returning Officer for the poll, Professor Akpofure Rem-Rukeh, had declared Godwin Obaseki winner for polling 307,955 votes to best his closest rival APC’s Osagie Ize-Iyamu, who got 223,619, to be returned for a second term as governor of Edo State.
