Edo 2020: Be Neutral At All Times – INEC Chairman To Electoral Officials

By Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, has admonished officials of the commission to remain neutral in conducting the Edo governorship election.

According to Yakubu, in a message to INEC staff on the eve of the Governorship poll in Edo State, the international community was watching with keen interest, hence the need for INEC officials to remain above board in the performance of their individual responsibilities, in line with the commission’s “Code of Conduct and Oath of Neutrality”, ensuring that no candidate or political party was favoured in any way.

He added that the country’s mage would be better for it if they carried out their functions diligently, ensuring that the election was free, fair, and credible
