(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The BUA Group has continued to boost the country’s COVID-19 war chest with the donation of an additional sum of N350 million the CBN-led Private Sector Coalition on COVID-19 (CACOVID), taking its total donation to the fund since the outbreak of the pandemic to N1.35billion.
BUA has also extended its charity gestures to the government of Kebbi State, which was a recipient of a donation of N100million, in support of victims of recent flooding in the state. The Chairman, BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu commiserated with the governor and Kebbi State government, communities, and individuals affected by the floods. He also enjoined all stakeholders to support the recovery efforts.
Rabiu, while commenting on the donations, expressed the company’s commitment to its sustainable development obligations, as socially responsible organizing and would continue providing much-needed assistance as determined by exigencies. BUA’s Chairman reserved special commendation for the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, for the transparent and accountable manner he has so far coordinated CACOVID’s intervention, alongside the likes of Aliko Dangote and other members of the CACOVID steering committee, of which BUA is a pioneer member
POTENTIAL IMPACT OF INITIATIVES: BUA’s N350 million donation to CACOVID will be a further boost for the country’s COVID-19 efforts, while the donation of N100 million to the Kebbi State Government will strengthen the state’s ongoing relief efforts for flood victims.
