#COVID-19 BRIEFS: Nigeria Records 79 New Cases, Taking Total Confirmed Cases To 56, 256


By Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Nigeria recorded 79 new cases of the Coronavirus, according to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), which disclosed this on Sunday, taking the total confirmed cases of the virus in the country to 56, 256, the lowest figures in a long while.

Breakdown of the new cases of COVID-19 in the country is as follows: Lagos-30, Kaduna-17, Ogun-7, Anambra-5, Kano-4, Katsina-3, FCT-2, Akwa Ibom-2, Oyo-2, Rivers-2, Delta-1, Plateau-1 and Ondo-1.

Out of the 56, 256 cases of COVID-19 so far confirmed in the country, 44,152 have been successfully treated and discharged, having recovered, while 1,082 fatalities have been recorded since the outbreak of the pandemic.
