COVID-19 Briefs: Nigeria Records 296 New Cases, Total Confirmed Cases Now 55,456

By Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – According to the Nigeria Centre for Diseases Control (NCDC), in its latest update, Nigeria has recorded 296 new COVID-19 cases.

Breakdown of the fresh COVID-19 cases in Nigeria, which are spread across 14 states of the federation, including the FCT, is as follows: Plateau- 183, Lagos-33, Federal Capital Territory-25, Ogun 16, Oyo – 7, Ekiti – 6, Kwara and Ondo – 5, Anambra, Imo and Nasarawa – 3, Rivers, Gombe and Edo – 2 and Akwa Ibom – 1.

Out of the total confirmed 55,456 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria, 43,334 have been successfully treated and discharged, while 1,067 fatalities have been suffered since the outbreak of the pandemic.
