COVID-19 BRIEFS: Nigeria Records 155 New Cases, Taking Total Confirmed Cases To 55, 160


By Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced on Monday that the country recorded 155 new cases of the novel coronavirus, taking total confirmed cases of the virus in Nigeria to 55, 160.

Breakdown of the new cases, which are spread across 16 states of the federation, including Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory is as follows: Lagos (42), Plateau (25), Rivers (16), Ebonyi (10), FCT(9), Abia (9), Ogun (9), Osun (7), Katsina (6), Kaduna (6), Ekiti (4), Taraba (4), Edo (3), Anambra (2), Akwa Ibom (2), and Kano (1).

Out of the 55, 160 cases of COVID-19 so far recorded in Nigeria, 43, 231 have been successfully treated and discharged, while 1, 061 fatalities have been recorded since the outbreak of the global pandemic
