By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Following the release of a ‘memorandum’ by the Nigeria Customs, warning of impending series of attacks by Islamist terrorist group, Boko Haram, on some targets in Abuja, the nation’s capital, the Nigerian Army has assured Nigerians that they were on top of the situation.
This was contained in a signed statement by the Coordinator Defence Media Operations, John Enenche, on Sunday, which stated that the Armed Forces was working together with other security agencies to prevent the Islamists from launching the alleged planned attacks.
Enenche urged the general public “to go about their lawful businesses undeterred”, assuring that all that was necessary to protect their lives and property was being put in place, calling on the populace to remain alert and feed the army with crucial intelligence on any suspicious activity for prompt action.
Recall that a memo signed by the Comptroller of Enforcement at the NCS headquarters, H. A. Sabo., had claimed that Boko Haram had selected targets within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
