Boko Haram: Police Ramp’s Up Security In Abuja, Releases Emergency Helplines

By Lillian Ogbonna (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Nigeria Police Command in Abuja, has promised members of the public of the readiness of its operatives to prevent the planned attacks by the Islamist terrorist group, Boko Haram, on targets in Abuja, the FCT.

This was in response to a security report by the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), which released an internal memo, warning that Boko Haram had selected targets to launch attacks on in the FCT, listing the five locations where Boko Haram had safe houses from where the attacks were being planned.

Speaking via a statement on Sunday, Anjuguri Manzah, Public Relations Officer of the police, stated that the FCT Police command was collaborating with other security agencies to gather intelligence to aid the force in the prevention of the planned attacks in the FCT.

Manzah urged Abuja residents to report any suspicious persons or activities in and around their neighbourhoods to the nearest Police Division. He also released helplines of the Command Control Centre, which are: 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653, and 08028940883.
