COVID-19 BRIEFS: Nigeria Confirms 125 Fresh Infections, As Total Cases Hit 54, 588


By Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Nigeria confirmed one hundred and twenty-five (125) fresh cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, as total confirmed cases of the virus in the country hit 54, 588, even as more recoveries are recorded. 

This was disclosed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), via a late-night tweet on its verified handle.

Breakdown of the fresh cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria, which are spread across 12 states of the federation, including Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is as follows: Lagos– 42, FCT – 25,  Katsina – 14 and Kaduna – 11, Kwara-8,  Ondo – 7;  Delta – 4;  Anambra – 3;  Oyo – 3;  Edo – 2;  Ogun – 2;  Osun – 2 and Cross River -1.

Out of the total 54,588 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria, 42,627 have been successfully treated and discharged, while 1,048 fatalities have been so far recorded since the outbreak of the pandemic.
