COVID-19 BRIEFS: Nigeria Reports 296 New Cases, Bringing Total Confirmed Cases To 53, 317


By Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced in a late-night tweet on Thursday, that Nigeria’s COVID-19 infections had risen to 53, 317, following the confirmation of 296 cases.

Breakdown of the fresh COVID-19 cases in Nigeria, as spread across 16 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), is as follows: Plateau-85, Enugu – 46, Oyo – 31, Lagos – 21, Rivers – 20, FCT – 15, Kaduna – 13, Bauchi – 12, Delta – 11, Ekiti – 11, Akwa Ibom – seven, Ebonyi – six, Kwara – five, Ogun – four, Osun – four, Gombe – three, and Niger – two.

Out of the 53,317 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria, 40,726 have been successfully treated and discharged, while 1,011 fatalities have been so far recorded.
