Edo Guber Election: “We Are Not Responsible For Violence At PDP Rally” – APC

By Lillian Ogbonna (AGENDAWATVHDOG) – Following allegations by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) that it sponsored thugs to disrupt its rally in Apana community in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has come out to rebuff such suggestions.

The APC’s governorship candidate in the September 19, 2020 poll, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu (POI), during a media parley in Benin City, the Edo State Capital,  denied the involvement of the party in the purported incident, adding that  the party’s campaigns across the state had been rancor-free as it had no reason to resort to violence in an election it was confident of winning.

Speaking further, POI adviced the media and the public to discountenance the concocted lies of the PDP, calling on law enforcement agencies to carry out proper investigations to unearth the remote and immediate causes of the purported incident and prosecute whoever is found wanting.

According to the PDP, some armed thugs, purportedly hired by the APC, had attempted to disrupt the PDP campaign in Apana community in Etsako West Local Government Area of the state, but were repelled by the police.
