Borrowing For Infrastructure Is Not Bad – Lai Mohammed

By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, on Saturday said that the government’s practice of borrowing for infrastructural development was in order.

Mr. Mohammed stated this while on an inspection tour of the Lagos-Ibadan railway project, where he said that the Buhari administration didn’t borrow money for services or overhead expenditure, but for capital projects such as rails, roads, bridges, power and general infrastructure, which was not bad, especially as such projects would create jobs and an enabling environment for the economy.

The minister expressed joy for the Lagos-Ibadan rail project, lauding the Honourable Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amechi, for his passion in ensuring the speedy completion of the project.
