COVID-19 BRIEFS: Nigeria Confirms 453 New Cases, Total Infections Now 47,743


By Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed on Wednesday night via Twitter that Nigeria had confirmed 453 fresh cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of cases in the country to 47,743.

Breakdown of the new figures, which are spread across 14 states of the federation, including Abuja, the FCT, are as follows: Lagos-113, FCT-72, Plateau – 59, Enugu – 55, Kaduna – 38, Ondo – 32, Osun – 26, Ebonyi – 20, Ogun – 9, Delta – 8, Borno – 7, Akwa-Ibom – 6, Oyo – 5 with Bauchi, Kano and Ekiti each having 1 case.

Of the total 47,743 confirmed cases in the country, 33,943 have been successfully treated and discharged, while 956 deaths have been so far recorded.
