The Oba Of Benin Has Not Endorsed Obaseki – Obahiagbon

By Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Patrick Obahiagbon (aka Prince of Igodomigodo), the Deputy National Chairman on Communication and Publicity for the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council in Edo State, says that the visit by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftains to the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, was just a courtesy call and nothing more.

The former Chief of Staff to the sacked National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, during his 8-year stint as Governor of Edo State, was speaking while appearing as a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday.

According to Obahiagbon, the Oba of Benin received the PDP chieftains to his palace in line with the hospitable tradition of the Benin people, which should not be misconstrued to be an endorsement of the party’s candidate in the September 19 Governorship Election in the state, Godwin Obaseki.

The garrulous former member of the House of Representatives pointed out the Oba was a politically neutral king who does not endorse political aspirants, but rather offers prayers for all his subjects.
