COVID-19 BRIEFS: Nigeria Reports 481 Fresh Infections, As Total Cases Reach 42,689

By Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced via its twitter handle late on Thursday night that Nigeria had recorded 481 fresh cases of COVID-19, taking the country’s total number of infections to 42, 689.

Breakdown of the fresh cases, which are spread across fifteen states of the federation, including Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, is as follows: FCT-96 Lagos-89 Plateau-68 Ogun-49 Edo-44 Rivers-43 Oyo-25 Osun-23 Delta-15 Enugu-11 Kano-7 Kaduna-7 Bauchi-2 Bayelsa-1 Yobe-1 42,689.

Out of the total 42, 689 cases so far confirmed, 19,270 have been successfully treated and discharged,  while 878 fatalities have been recorded since the outbreak of the disease in late February.
