COVID-19 Relief: Delta Govt Plans Tax Waivers For Private schools, Transporters, Eateries


By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) in Delta State are set to benefit from tax waivers from the Delta State Government as part of measures to stem the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on their sources of livelihood.

The good news was disclosed to the media by the Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, in Asaba, the state capital.

Aniagwu, who also announced that the state received $4.5 million (about N1.6 billion) World Bank grant for budget discipline, added that the government of the state was mindful of the negative impact of COVID-19 on the people and the nation’s economy, thus its provision of the tax waivers which would prop up businesses and stabilize the prices of goods and services.
