#Rail Transport: Abuja-Kaduna Railway Set To Recommence Operations On July 29

(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – After more than three months of downtime due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Abuja-Kaduna railway is set to recommence operations on July 29, according to the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, who disclosed this on Saturday while on an inspection of the new coaches on the rail line.

Amaechi, who disclosed this via Twitter pointed out that COVID-19 protocols such as social distancing would be observed in the sitting arrangement, adding that anybody who failed to adhere to the guidelines would not be allowed to board a train.

Potential Impact: The reopening of the Abuja-Kaduna rail services will ease the transportation strains for commuters on that axis which were brought about by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent shutdown of rail travel across the country.
