EDO Guber: PDP Says Incident At Oba’s Palace Was An Assassination Attempt

By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Edo Campaign Council and National Vice Chairman (South-South), Dan Osi Orbih, has blamed the APC for the incident at the palace of the Oba of Benin over the weekend, which he says was an assassination attempt on the bigwigs of the party who were at the palace to see the revered monarch.

Orbih, who disclosed this, while chatting with the media at the PDP’s campaign office in Benin City, the Edo State capital, said that the incident was part of a premeditated plot by the APC to assassinate the top hierarchy of the party, which included the National Chairman, Uche Secondus, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, and others who paid a courtesy call to the Oba’s palace, warning that the incident could have multiplier effects in the form of conflicts between Edo State and other states whose governors were supposedly “marked down for elimination”.

According to Orbih, the APC, which had no official programme in the state or the palace on the day of the tragic incident, hired thugs to cause “Chaos and mayhem in the state”, appealing to the security agencies to carry out proper investigation into the matter and ensure that the culprits of the dastardly DP acts were brought to book.
