COVID-19 BRIEFS: Total Infections In Nigeria Now 40,532, As 555 Fresh Cases Are Recorded


By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Nigeria’s total COVID-19 cases is now put at 40,532, following the confirmation of 555 fresh cases, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), which announced this via Twitter on Sunday night.

Breakdown of the fresh cases are as follows: Lagos-156, Kano-65, Ogun-57, Plateau-54, Oyo – 53, Benue – 43, FCT – 30, Ondo – 18, Kaduna – 16, Akwa Ibom – 13, Gombe – 13, Rivers – 12, Ekiti – 9, Osun –8, Cross River –3, Borno –2, Edo –2, and Bayelsa –1.

Out of the 40,532 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria, 17,374 have been successfully treated and discharged, while 858 fatalities have been recorded.
