By Lillian Ogbonna (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State has expressed shock over the defection of the immediate past Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the Bauchi State PDP Public Relations Officer (PRO), Alhaji Yayanuwa Zainabari, while speaking to the media on Dogara’s defection, the party was shocked to its marrow by Dogara’s sudden move despite all the support he had received since he joined their train, citing the automatic ticket he received from the party in 2019 to contest for the Bogoro/Tafawa Balewa/Dass federal constituency seat in the last general election, which automatically denied other aspirants in the constituency the opportunities to run in the election.
Zainabari further said that the PDP’s pains at Dogara’s exit stemmed from the fact that it had carried him along in all its programmes in Bauchi State where it supported him on three different occasions to represent his constituency in the National Assembly.
Dogara, had defected to the PDP from the APC in January 2019 prelude to the general elections, while still serving as Speaker of the House of Representatives.
