By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Deputy President of the Senate and Chairman, Senate Committee on Review of the 1999 Constitution, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, on Friday, described former President Olusegun Obasanjo as an epitome of humility worthy of emulation by other Nigerian leaders.
According to Omo-Agege, Obasanjo rose to become a military Head of State, and a democratically elected President due to his humble demeanour, a virtue that was lacking in the current crop of leaders in the country.
The Deputy Senate President aired his views on Obasanjo yesterday in Abuja at the public presentation of the book, ‘How I Became a Senator in 30 Days’ written by the Chairman, Senate Committee on Rules and Business, Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umah. Omo-Agege urged Nigerian political leaders to be altruistic, dedicated, focused and humble in serving their people, as that was the best way to moving the nation forward.
