Senate Report: NDDC Spent 1.3trn Between 2015 and 2019

By Lillian Ogbonna (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – According to a report by the Senate ad hoc committee investigating financial recklessness in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) released on Thurdasy, N1.3 trillion was spent by the commission within four years.

This revelation in the Senate committee’s investigative report comes days after the acting NDDC Managing Director, Prof. Kemebradikumo Pondei, fainted during a grilling session.

According to the report presented by the Senate Committee Chairman, Senator Olubunmi Adetunmbi, the NDDC spent the N1.3 trillion between 2015 and May 31, 2019, adding that the Committee observed process errors and breaches, coupled with the fact that some unjustifiable allowances were paid to staff.
