Power Sector Probe: Reps Committee Slam Refusal Of CBN Governor To Honour Invitations

By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The continued refusal of the Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele, to honour the invitation of the House of Representatives adhoc Committee investigating the privatisation process of the power sector, has received the flak of the Committee Chairman, Ado Doguwa.

Mr. Doguwa wondered why a public servant such as Emefiele, who was the head of the country’s apex financial institution, in his capacity as the Central Bank Governor, would continue to ignore invitations by an investigative committee of an arm of the country’s government, to explain how he has been spending taxpayers’ money.

The committee chairman warned that the committee might be forced to compel the CBN Governor, using all legal means, to appear before it, if he continued to be obstinate.
