By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Military sources have confirmed that the driver who knocked down Flying Officer, Tolulope Arotile, had no valid driving license.
According to the military sources, as reported by Channels Television, the driver is a civilian and Arotile’s secondary school classmate who was on a visit to the Airforce base located in Mando area of Kaduna metropolis on the day of the sad incident, and had on spotting the late Airforce Pilot, reversed to give her a lift, but accidentally ran into her.
Following the arrest of the driver and the other occupants of the car by the Air police, it was discovered that the driver of the car had no valid driver’s license during interrogation.
On Wednesday, the Nigerian Air Force announced the demise of Arotile, who was Nigeria’s first female combat helicopter pilot, from multiple head injuries sustained from a road traffic accident at the NAF Base Kaduna.
According to an NAF official statement, she will be buried with full military honours.
