#Partnership: Private School Owners To Receive Interest-Free Loans From Kwara Govt

(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Private Schools in Kwara State are set to become beneficiaries of a loan scheme, courtesy the Kwara State Government, in form of COVID-19 support.

This was disclosed via a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, in which the State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s Government promised to provide interest-free loans to private schools to enable them offset staff salaries and prevent job losses in the sub-sector, acknowledging that proprietors and workers across private schools in the state had been negatively impacted by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Governor Abdulrazaq, during a virtual-video conference with the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), pointed out that the government was in the process of collating  data of the actual number of private schools in the state, alongside the number of teaching staff and students, for a hitch free disbursement of the loans.
