COVID-19 BRIEFS: Nigeria Records 643 Fresh Cases, Taking Total Infections To 34,259


By Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Wedenesday, July 15, 2020, announced via its verified Twitter handle that Nigeria had recorded 643 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 34,259.

Breakdown of the fresh cases of COVID-19, which are spread across 19 states of the federation, including the FCT, is as follows: Lagos-230, FCT-51, Oyo – 69, Edo – 43, Osun – 35, Rivers and Ebonyi each having 30 cases, Kaduna – 28, Ogun – 27, Ondo – 23, Plateau – 20, Benue – 17, Enugu – 16 and Imo – 10, Delta – 6, Kano – 4, Nasarawa – 2, Kebbi-1, and Ekiti-1.

The NCDC report noted that a total of 13,999 patients have recovered and have been discharged, while the country’s fatality toll stands at 760.
