Alleged N28m Fraud: “You’re Not A Saint, Above The Law” – Fayose Slams Falana

By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Following allegations that  Femi Falana (SAN) received N28 million from Ibrahim Magu, the suspended acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ayodele Fayose, a former Governor of Ekiti State, has urged the human rights activist to defend himself by seeking legal redress rather than making mere threats.

According to Fayose, who spoke via his tweeter handle, the revered SAN should go to court to clear his name of the damning allegations purportedly made against him rather than issuing empty threats, adding that Falana should not carry on as if he was saint and above the law.

The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, had reported that a disclosure  from the Presidential Investigation Committee on the EFCC Recovered Assets and Finances from May 2015, to May 2020, had claimed that N28 million payment was traced to a Falana from Ibrahim Magu,  a claim the human rights lawyer has vehemently denied.

Fayose also has an ongoing case with the EFCC on allegations that he embezzled N12 billion during his tenure as Ekiti State Governor.
