COVID-19 BRIEFS: Nigeria Records 595 New Infections, As Total Infections Hit 33,153.


By Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed on Monday night that COVID-19 cases in Nigeria had hit 33, 153, following the confirmation of 595 new infections in the country.

Breakdown of the new infections, which are spread across 19 states, including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, are as follows: Lagos-156, Oyo-141, FCT-99, Edo – 47, Kaduna – 27, Ondo – 22, Rivers – 20, Osun – 17, Imo – 13, and Plateau – 10, Nasarawa-8, Anambra-8, Kano-5, Benue-5, Borno-5, Ogun – 4, Taraba-3, Gombe-3, Kebbi-1, and Cross River-1.

Out of the total confirmed cases of 33,153, a total of 13,671 people, who recovered from the virus, have been discharged, while a total of 744 fatalities have been recorded.
