Buhari Appoints Edmund Daukoru, BGT President, NLNG Chairman

By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWTCHDOG) – Edmund Daukoru has been appointed the respective Chairman and President of the boards of Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) and Bonny Gas Transport Limited (BGT), by President Muhammadu Buhari.

This was disclosed via a statement on Monday by Timipre Sylva, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, in which he urged the appointees to discharge their responsibilities in line with Buhari’s progressive agenda.

Members of the NLNG Board are Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Bitrus Nabasu, Henry lkem-Obih and Rabiu Sulaiman, while members of the BST Board are Doyin Akinyanju, Abdul Abba as well as Kyari and Nabasu.

Daukoru, the Amayanabo (traditional ruler) of Nembe Kingdom,  was appointed as Presidential Advisor on Petroleum and Energy to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, in 2003, elevated in 2005, to the position of the Minister of State for Energy, and also functioned as Secretary General of the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in 2006.
