“Magu’s Probe Must Not Be Swept Under The Carpet” – Fayose

By Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Ayodele Fayose, former Governor of Ekiti State, has added his voice to others calling for a thorough investigation of the allegations against Ibrahim Magu, the suspended Chairman of the country’s apex anti-graft body, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

According to Fayose, there should be no sentiments attached to the trial of Magu, whom he accused of  selling assets seized by the EFCC to associates, “some so-called human rights lawyers”, who are now backing him due to their complicity in the whole affair.

For Fayose, the probe should not end up as a public relations stunt by the Buhari Government, urging that the “relooted” loots must be recovered, while all culpable parties in the crime should be brought to book.

The former governor is also being tried over an alleged N2.2bn fraud case purportedly committed during his stints in office.
