Building Collapse: Three Dead, Nine Injured In Lagos


By Olivia Isibor – (AGENDAWATCHDOG)Consequent to a building collapse in the Island area of Lagos, in the early hours of Saturday, three persons have died and nine rescued.

According to the Director-General of the State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, who confirmed the sad incident, the house collapsed while the victims were asleep, adding that their remains had been transported to the morgue, while the nine injured were receiving treatment.

The LASEMA DG, while disclosing that the victims included a child and two adults, added that the agency was moving the ‘unstable’ structure to ground zero for the safety and stability of residents of the area and indeed the state.

Officials of the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LABSCA), Ministry of Physical planning, Nigeria Police among other emergency workers were at the scene of the tragic incident.
