#Magu: Police Officers Withdrawn From Magu’s Residence, EFCC Premises On IGP’s Orders


By Amechi Idumuebor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu, has ordered the immediate withdrawal of all police officers from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and their replacement with fresh ones.

Adamu’s order was contained in a signal on Friday, addressed to the Assistant Inspector-General, Police Mobile Force Squadrons one to 79, the Force Secretary and Commissioners of Police of all the state commands and the Federal Capital Territory.

According to the directive only officials of the commission should be allowed entry into the premises, while all withdrawn police personnel from PMF 21, 44, 45, 46 and 50, were directed to report to the Force Headquarters by 8am on Monday.

Police Personnel guarding the official and personal residences of the embattled acting EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, who has been suspended, pending the conclusion of an ongoing probe into allegations of corrupt practices leveled against him, have also been withdrawn.
