Special Works Programme: FG To Recruit 27,000 Imo Youths

(AGENDWATCHDOG) –There are plans by the Federal Government to recruit about 27,000 youths in Imo State to carry out public works in their various Local Government Areas.

This was disclosed by the Chairman, Special Public Works Committee in the state, Obinna Okenze, on Wednesday at the Federal Secretariat in Owerri, the state capital, while making his remarks during the inaugural meeting of the state nominees for the Federal Government’s Special Public Works programme.

According to Okenze, the youths would be engaged between October and December 2020, and will earn N20,000 monthly, warning that the recruitment was free of charge and that anybody caught charging fees for the recruitment would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
