Post COVID-19: FG Set To Boost Mining, Other Sectors With N2.3trn


By Olivia Isibor (AGENDWAWATCHDOG) – As part of its efforts to boost the country’s economy in the post-COVID-19 years, the Federal Government is set to boost the mining and other sectors of the economy with N2.3 trillion.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Mr Olamilekan Adegbite,  during a media chat on Federal Government’s plans for the solid minerals sector in the post COVID-19 years.

According to Adegbite, the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development would receive six billion naira from the total sum at the end of the day, adding that the ministry already had solid plans on ground prelude to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, which seriously hampered the smooth execution of these objectives, mentioning the Ajaokuta Steel Project, which he revealed was four to five months behind schedule, as one of the lofty objectives of the ministry that had been stalled by the outbreak of the pandemic.
