Obaseki Receives New NYSC Certificate

By Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Following a formal request, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has issued a fresh certificate to the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki.

Governor Obaseki had been screened out from participating in the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) Governorship Primary Election by the party’s screening panel on the grounds of inconsistencies in his academic records, following which he defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) which then gave him the ticket to run for his reelection in the forthcoming September 19, 2020, Governorship Poll in Edo State.

Obaseki performed his compulsory national service in 1980, but was issued an alphabetically defective certificate, with the surname reading Obasek instead of Obaseki, an error that has been corrected in the reissued certificate.
