“For Your Information, Schools Have Not Resumed”, Says PTF

By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Following several interpretations and misinterpretations over the resumption of schools in Nigeria, the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 has endeavoured to make some clarifications.

Mr. Boss Mustapha, the PTF Chairman, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), while speaking at the daily press briefing of the PTF, on Thursday, July 2, 2020, disclosed that no resumption date had yet been approved by the Federal Government for the resumption of schools in the country, adding that government only directed graduating students to resume classes in other to prepare for their examinations.

The SGF intoned that the Federal Ministry of Education will continue to consult with stakeholders before issuing guidelines that will lead to full resumption of schools in the country, advising Nigerians to continue cooperating with the government and to ensure that their wards avail themselves the use of all available e-learning platforms, while waiting for government’s directive on the resumption date for schools.
