COVID-19 BRIEFS: Nigeria Records 561 New Cases, Total Infections Now 25, 694.


By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed on its verified Twitter handle, on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, that Nigeria has recorded 561 fresh cases of COVID-19, taking the country’s total infections to 25, 694.

Breakdown of the fresh cases, which cut across 18 states of the federation, including  the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), are as follows: Lagos – 200, Edo – 119, Kaduna – 52, Niger – 32, Ogun 19, Ondo – 16, Imo – 14, Plateau – 11, Abia and Oyo states each having 8 cases, Bayelsa – 7 and Katsina – 6, Kano – 5, Bauchi -3, Osun-3, Kebbi-3, Borno – 2, Jigawa – 1.

Out of the country’s 25, 694 confirmed cases of the ailment, 9, 746 patients have been treated and discharged, while 590 fatalities have been recorded since the onset of the outbreak of the disease in Nigeria.
