#Coronavirus: Limited Testing Limits Knowledge Of Actual Number Of Cases In Nigeria – PTF

By Lillian Ogbonna (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Mr. Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and Chairman, Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, has disclosed that due to limited testing of COVId-19 in Nigeria, the actual number of infections could not be ascertained.

Mustapha said this, while speaking at the daily press briefing of the PTF on Monday, where he revealed that the virus was increasing at an alarming pace.

The SGF, while noting that guidelines released by the PTF, Ministry of Health and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) such as restrictions on public gatherings, observing social distancing, and the mandatory wearing of facemasks, were still in force, compliance with these restrictions was not encouraging.

Nigeria continues to register a steady rise in new cases, with 25,133 infections and 573 deaths recorded so far.
