Ondo: IGP Directs Ondo Police Chief To Restore Deputy Governor’s Security Details

By Lillian Ogbonna (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Bolaji Salami, has been ordered by the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to restore the security details of the state’s deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi.

Adamu’s order was issued via a memo addressed to Ajayi through the office of the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Operations, Force Headquarters Abuja, signed by Austine Agbonlahor, an Assistant Inspector-General of Police.

The order comes in the wake of the withdrawal of the security details attached to the Ondo State Deputy Governor on the orders of the state Commissioner of Police, purportedly acting on the instructions of the state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, following the defection of the deputy governor from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
