Edo Guber Poll: The Processes That Brought Obaseki To The PDP Were Flawed – Kassim Afegbua

By Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Prince Kassim Afegbua, spokesman of the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign, and member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), says the processes that brought Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State to the party was undemocratic, therefore, he would not support his second term bid.

Afegbua made the disclosure while speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he intoned that he was being objective in saying that he would not support Obaseki’s candidature, rather than sounding pretentious and subverting the governor’s second bid from within

According to Afegbua, his hardline posture on Obaseki’s bid did not stem from personal hatred or greed, but out of his conviction that the processes that culminated in Obaseki’s emergence as the PDP’s candidate in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Edo State were faulty, wondering how somebody could defect from a party to another within 24 hours and immediately get the nod of his new party to bear its standard in an electoral contest.

It would be recalled that Governor Godwin Obaseki had joined the PDP, which has given him its governorship ticket for the September 19, 2020, Edo State Governorship Election, following his disqualification from the primary election of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
