Profiling Lagos State’s Free Academy For Youths In Creative Industry
By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – There are plans by the Lagos State Government to construct an International Infectious Disease Research Centre, according to the state governor,Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who disclosed this on Sunday, June 28, 2020, while inaugurating the 150-bed Mainland Infectious Disease Isolation Centre,Yaba, donated by the Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) to the state.
According to Governor Sanwo-Olu, the centre, which would be built on the premises of the Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, was part of the state government’s proactive response to the COVID-19 pandemic and post-COVID infectious diseases.
Sanwo-Olu also revealed that, as part of the global master plan for the Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, the state government plans to construct special purpose Doctors’ Quarters, together with isolation wards to increase capacity for any infectious disease outbreak in the state.
