#COVID-19 BRIEFS: Nigeria Records 684 New Cases, Taking Total Infections To 23,298


By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed via its verified Twitter handle, on Friday, June 26, 2020, that Nigeria had recorded 684 fresh cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of infections in the country to 23,298.

Breakdown of the fresh figures, which are spread across the 18 states of the federation, including, Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, are as follows: Lagos (259), Abuja (20), Oyo (76), Katsina(69), Delta (66), Rivers (46), Ogun (23), Edo (22), Osun (22), Ebonyi (21), Kaduna (16), Ondo (10), Imo (9), Abia (9), Gombe (5), Plateau (4), Bauchi (4) Ekiti (2) and Anambra (1).

According to the NCDC, 8, 253 patients have been discharged, having recovered from the ailment, while 554 fatalities have been recorded since the outbreak of the disease in Nigeria.
