Buhari, Tinubu Remain Strong Allies, Despite Contrary Insinuations – Presidency

By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – In reaction to suggestions in some quarters that the relationship between President Muhammadu Buhari and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu have become strained, consequent to recent developments in the party, the Presidency has declared that relations between the pair remain as strong as ever.

The Presidency’s reaction, which comes in the wake of the National Working Committee’s (NWC) dissolution by the party’s National Executive Councl (NEC),   was contained in a statement signed by Presidential spokesman Garba Shehu, who disclosed that president Buhari and Tinubu were in touch with each other and that their relationship was intact.

According to Shehu,  the decision of the Emergency National Executive Committee meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC), chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari, was meant save the party from self-destructing, adding that the NEC’s action had been widely lauded by the acolytes of democracy in the party who were becoming apprehensive of the escalating crisis.

However, the presidency frowned at attempts by some political analysts to give the impression of a nonexistent Buhari-Tinubu faceoff, which was a figment of the imaginations of political vultures masquerading as smart analysts, urging the public to disregard such concocted lies.
