APC Leadership Crisis: We’re Observing Developments, Consulting With Our Legal Team – Sacked NWC Members

By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Following yesterday’s dissolution of the National Working Committee, NWC, of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, consequent to the outcome of an emergency session of the National Executive Council (NEC), eighteen former members of the committee have reacted to their reported sack, saying they were observing unfolding developments, as well as consulting with their lawyers and other critical parties.

In a statement, issued, in reaction to the development, signed by Hilliard Eta and Arc. Waziri Bulama, factional acting National Chairman and acting National Secretary in the dissolved NWC, the eighteen members of the dissolved committee made their stand on the matter known.

According to the statement, the NWC was standing its grounds that Chief Victor Giadom had no locus standi to summon a convergence of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the APC, an action that was contrarary to “Article 25(B) of the party’s Constitution, which is the sole preserve  of the National Chairman of the National Working Committee (NWC).

The statement also noted that the same constitutional provision made it compulsory for a notice of a minimum of 14 days to be given in respect of statutory quarterly meetings, and 7 days in respect of emergency meetings, adding that while they were still observing unfolding developments, they were consulting with their legal team on the next line of action.
