By Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Mr Anthony Aziegbemi, the chairman of the Edo State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has disclosed that the party’s primaries will proceed as scheduled with Governor Godwin Obaseki’s name on the ballot papers as a contestant.

The chairman made this disclosure via Channels Television interview session, saying however, that his decision is, was subject to the advice of the party’s lawyers concerning the court directive.

This comes on the heels of two conflicting Judgement from the High Court in Rivers State, which barred Governor Obaseki from contesting in the Primary Election of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), slated for Thusday, June 25, 2020, and a counter order by an Ekpoma High Court asking the PDP and INEC not to bar the governor from contesting in the party congress.
