By Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Prelude to the governorship primary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, one of the top contenders for the party’s governorship ticket, Mr Gideon Ikhine, has announced his intention to step down from the race for Gov. Godwin Obaseki of Edo State.
Ikhine, while announcing his decision to withdraw from the race, at a ceremony in Benin City, the Edo State capital, hinged his decision on the need to make sacrifices for progress, adding that Obaseki’s defection to the PDP was divinely ordained.
The ceremony had in attendance Gov. Obaseki, state party chairman, Dr Tony Aziegbemhin and other party stalwarts from across the state.
