@Coronavirus: 13 More Imo Legislators Test Positive

By Lilian Ogbonna (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The spokesman for the Imo State Task Force on COVID-19, Chinedu Iwuala, has confirmed that thirteen more members of the Imo State House of Assembly have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing to 14, the number of lawmakers in the state who have tested positive for the virus in the state.

Iwuala, who confirmed this on Channels Television on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, said that the infected lawmakers have gone into self-isolation, in line with the COVID-19 guidelines and protocols of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and the Presidemtial Task Force On COVID-19 (PTF).

Following the confirmation of the status of the first infected lawmaker, the state government had ordered the shutting of the State Assembly Complex in Owerri for two weeks.
