COVID-19 BRIEFS: Confirmed Cases In Nigeria Surpass The 20,000 Mark, With 436 New Infections

By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed  via a tweet that COVID-19 cases in the country had surpassed the 20,000 mark, following the confirmation of 436 new infections on Sunday, taking total confirmed cases to 20,244.

Breakdown of the fresh infections are as follows: Lagos-169, Oyo- 52, Plateau- 31,  Imo-29, Kaduna-28, Ogun-23, FCT-18, Enugu-18, Bauchi-17, Bayelsa-14, Rivers-8, Osun-6, Kano-6, Edo-5, Benue-5, Adamawa-3, Borno-2, Abia-1, and Ekiti-1.

Out of the country’s total figures, according to the NCDC, a total of 6,879 patients have been discharged, following full recoveries  from the ailment, while 518 fatalities have been recorded since the onset of the pandemic.
