Edo PDP Gubernatorial Primary Election Postponed


By Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) –The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the postponement of its primary election for the forthcoming September Governorship Poll in Edo State, from the earlier scheduled to hold between Friday, June 19, 2020, and Saturday, June 20, 2020, respectively, to Tuesday, June 23, 2020.

This was disclosed by the  PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, via a statement on Thursday, June 18, 2020, in which he said that the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) had decided  to postpone the election, consequent to new developments.

While calling on all the governorship aspirants, critical stakeholders, party faithful, and PDP supporters in Edo State to take note of the new date for the exercise, Ologbondiyan assured all concerned, especially the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), that the primaries would be conducted in accordance with subsisting COVID-19 guidelines and protocols.
