Oshiomhole: Sen. Ajimobi To Serve As Interim APC National Chairman, Following Oshiomhole’s Suspension


By Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Following the suspension of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, by an Abuja Appeal Court, Sen. Abiola Ajimobi, who was the party’s Deputy National Chairman, Southern Region, has been elevated to serve as interim National Chairman of the party.

According to a statement signed by party spokesman Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu late Tuesday, the APC said that the National Working Committee’s  decision was in line with the provisions of the party constitution, which reads:

Section 14.2. (iii), of the APC constitution, the Deputy National Chairman, North/South ‘Shall act as the National Chairman in the absence of the National Chairman from his zone.

In response to the Interlocutory Appeal filed by Comrade Oshiomhole On Tuesday, June 16, 2020, the Court of Appeal in Abuja, FCT, upheld the earlier suspension of Adams Oshiomhole, as the APC’s National Chairman, by an Abuja High Court headed by Justice Danlami Senchi, in March, 2020, oredring the withdrawal of his security details and warning him to desist from parading himself as the APC’s National Chairman.
